Adult Hearing Tests and Evaluations
A complete audiological examination is the basic hearing examination. It consists of pure tone air and bone conduction testing as well as speech audiometry and immittance testing. Testing pure tones is done to determine the degree of hearing loss and whether the loss is conductive and sensorineural. Speech audiometry is obtained to determine the individuals ability to understand speech at an elevated comfortable level.
Pediatric Hearing Tests and Evaluations
Infants to adolescent children can not always be tested by conventional audiometry. In those cases various behavioral techniques can be used. In general children can be tested behaviorally using play audiometry, modified pure tone audiometry, speech audiometry, and immittance testing. In addition other techniques can be used such as OAEs.

During this appointment, you and your hearing care professional will determine which type of hearing aid is most appropriate for you and your individual needs. This includes choosing the type of technology needed and your desired style of hearing aid. This choice will also reflect your budget, activity level and lifestyle.

We offer a wide variety of digital hearing aids from various manufacturers. We do not feel that one manufacturer is right for everyone. We will assist you in finding the best solution for your hearing needs that fit within your budget.We realize purchasing hearing aids is a big investment. Hearing Aid Repairs and Maintenance
Should your hearing aid need repairs and we cannot fix it in the office, we will send it back to the manufacturer. If the hearing aid is under warranty they will repair it at no cost to you. If the hearing aid is not under warranty and the patient desires it to be fixed, the manufacturer will repair it at a reasonable cost to you. We will provide loaner hearing aids whenever possible.
Custom Ear Molds and Hearing Protection
We offer a variety of custom ear molds and earpieces for swimmers, pilots, hunters, motorcycle riders, musicians, and IPOD users to name a few.
Assistive Listening Devices
We offer many types of assistive listening devices such as t-coil compatible earpieces for cell phone usage, TV ears, amplified telephones etc. Additionally, FM systems offer additional help in situations when hearing aids do not provide the necessary assistance.
Otoacoustic Emissions Testing (OAE)
This is an objective test which measures hair cell function in the inner ear. An emission is a sound generated within the normal cochlea in response to stimulation. OAE testing is used for a number of reasons for both adults and children
Tinnitus Evaluation and Treatments
Tinnitus, also known as “ringing in the ears”, is a very common problem in the hearing world. Almost 36 million Americans suffer from this troublesome issue. Tinnitus can form in any of the following areas of the ear: the inner ear, the middle ear, the outer ear or sometimes from issues from inside the brain itself. One of the top causes of tinnitus is where the endings of the hearing nerve located in the inner ear is damaged in one way causing tinnitus. Other factors of tinnitus can range from loud noises, medications, disease, and sometimes even extremely serious problems such as a brain tumor or aneurysm. While tinnitus is a difficult condition, there are still options in treatment.
Dr. Borcic will assist in recommending a coarse of action to deal with this persistent problem. As each person has a different response to the treatments.
Tympanometry
Tympanometry is an examination used to test the condition of the middle of the ear and mobility of the eardrum(tympanic membrane) and the conduction bones. The test is done by creating vibrations of air pressure in the ear canal.
